Hair extension pieces

Last night I dreamt that I had a selection of hair pieces - little curly extensions in various lengths that I could clip into my real hair. I was discussing them with my kids while trying to decide which length I wanted to wear.

Smart car

Last night I dreamt I was a driving a very small car (very much like the Smart Car)that several of my peers wanted me to buy. It was so small inside that I had to sit hunched forward, with my head down and my shoulders pressing against the roof, with my knees up around my chin in order to drive. Everybody kept telling me how perfect the car was and how much I'd love it. But I hated it. It was very uncomfortable. It didn't fit at all.

Walking home

Last night I dreamt I awoke laying in a giant inner tube on the sidewalk a few houses down from where I live. I was enjoying the morning sun on my face and the soft breeze across my body as I was waking. I decided, finally, to get up and walk home. Once I made it out of the tube and started walking towards my house, I raised my face to the sun to listen to the birds sing. When I looked back to where I was headed, I realized I had walked the wrong direction, so I turned around. I saw my house off in the distance, shrugged my shoulders and started walking towards it. Again I was distracted by the beauty of the morning, the spring flowering fruit trees I walked under, the birds singing and flying above my head, the daffodils and tulips and other spring flowers. When I looked where I was heading, I discovered I'd walked the wrong direction again. I turned and looked all around me to reorient myself and found myself in a rather industrial, high traffic area. I realized that I had to make it across traffic to get to the sidewalk that ran down the median between two highly trafficked, multi-lane roads. I took a deep breath ... and crossed.

Charity Garbage Clean-up

Last night I dreamt my family and I were part of a charity group involved in garbage collection and city clean-up, cleaning up an entire small town on the verge of ruin.

Freedom fighter, Liam Neeson and a kick line

Last night I dreamt we were in a South American country (Brazil, maybe?) in the midst of a civil war. My husband and I were there as freedom fighters. We were in a meeting room with a long table. Liam Neeson was there explaining that he had given up acting (his accent changed to a thick Latin/Spanish/Brazilian accent) and was in study to prepare for channeling the artist, (here he gave a long, multi-hyphenated name that I can't remember). Then I was in a rehearsal hall preparing to rehearse a kick-line choreography. I was positioned next to a very tall local actor. I kept trying to tell them I couldn't do this dance with my foot, but they wouldn't listen and insisted that I do it anyway. The dance number was to the song, "Don't Rain on My Parade", particularly the line, "I'll march my band out! I'll beat my drum!"

Hotel bathroom

Last night I dreamt we had gone for a family vacation/road trip. We decided to stop in a small town for the night. We found a nice hotel and checked in. The kids ran ahead to our adjoining rooms and were staking claim to who would get which bed while my husband and I finished checking in at the desk. As the clerk handed us the keys to our rooms, he informed us that they would not allow our cats to stay in the rooms. We offered to pay a pet deposit, but the hotel would not budge on the issue. So we asked for our $200 back and went to collect the kids. I stopped to use the bathroom. As I was finishing up, the stall door kept swinging open exposing me to a bar full of people. The more I tried to hold the door shut, the more it would swing open and the more the people could see me.

House

Last night I dreamt of walking through a large house with the intent of possibly buying it. The exterior of the house was very unassuming in a very modest neighborhood but when you walked it changed to something else entirely. It was a 3 level house with about 3000-sq ft per floor. It had a large entry way that opened into a great room with a large free standing fireplace that could be enjoyed from all sides. This room in turn opened into a large family room, dining area and huge gourmet kitchen - professional refrigerator, double gas stove/oven and three side-by-side dishwashers - with lots of counters and cupboards. There were 5 bedrooms on this level, too, as well a jetted tub. (I don't remember seeing bathrooms. Odd.) The carpet throughout was a dark coffee brown. The upstairs level was still under construction, but the carpet was laid and rooms were framed and walled in. Up there was to be a library, office, and 6 more bedrooms. The basement was unfinished, but could include rehearsal space and a recording studio as well as another family room, storage, and a skating rink. The people selling the house were asking $40,000 below list price, which put the house at $250,000.
I showed the house to my parents. They were polite, but not impressed and gave the impression they'd speak deprecatingly of it when they were not with me.
