Granny's Porch

Last night I dreamt of Granny's porch. It was closed in, but I was remembering first when it was screened and we'd have sleep-overs on it. Then I remembered when it was an open porch (it's always been an open, covered porch) and we'd sit on the railing and jump off the side, trying to avoid the flowers below it.

Lightning house

Last night I dreamt of a large house alone in a large open field. I was watching lightning play across the sky all around it. Suddenly, a bolt of lighting came straight down on the top of the house, striking it dead center, then instantly surrounding the house and shooting out across the land around it, waking me up.

School and laughing in the rain

Last night I dreamt I was in the hallway of my daughter's school, students and teachers milling around. I glanced up in time to see my daughter zoom down an adjacent hall on a teeny, shoe-sized skateboard. I started to tell her to stop when I saw a teacher, Mrs. Daly (not her waking-life teacher), talking to her. She was to be her teacher for next school year. Then I saw her current teacher and noticed they had the same hair cut and color - longish hair, honey weave on top, dark purple underneath.
Then my daughter and I were walking across the parking lot to the van. She, as always, was running ahead. The wind was blowing and rain was beginning to fall. I opened my arms wide, closed my eyes and lifted my face to it all. A gust of wind blew me down, flat on my back. I just laid there, arms still wide and eyes still closed, and laughed. Then stood up and resumed walking to the van.

Short Notice Double Wedding

Last night I dreamt we had gone to a huge mansion for a large gathering. The owner/occupants were extremely wealthy (old money wealthy). The matriarch of the family approached me and asked that I officiate a double wedding - I only remember that 1 of the grooms was a big deal doctor of some sort - that was to held in 30 minutes. I accepted, but inside I was a little anxious at having to pull off two weddings on such short notice. I borrowed a laptop and went off to find a quiet place to try to pull a ceremony together. As I was walking through the kitchen, a large mirrored wall opened up, startling me for a minute until I realized it was a bathroom door. I finally found myself upstairs in a grand hallway with several sitting arrangements and tables where I could work. I sat down and began researching and writing. Suddenly, some children came running through, recklessly. I was worried that they would accidentally break something. The matriarch appeared and the children stopped their roughhousing and went to play somewhere else. Time was running out and I still had the double ceremony to pull together, but the distractions just kept coming.
