Friends and Fog and Food

Last night I dreamt that our friend, Dave, was at our house with his trombone, visiting with us about joining our band.  Tony and Nick of our band were there, too, and we were all jamming some fun tunes.  A nice, cool wind had picked up so I went around and opened all the windows to let the cool air in the house.  The cats love to sit in the open windows and were all three perched on the window sills to watch the weather and the birds when one of our cats fell through the window screen.  My youngest daughter went outside to get him and bring him back in as I went around and shut the windows again.

A thick, white fog moved in - so thick you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, so thick you could feel it on your skin and taste it in your mouth.  Our youngest and the cat made it safely back inside and I put some hot tea on - raspberry cream for me and orange zinger for her.  As I turned around sipping my tea, my friend, Jeremy, picked up me under my arms, lifting my feet off the floor, and began to waltz with me around the kitchen.  The table was full of food and surrounded by people - my husband and kids, Tony and Tanya and kids, Nick and his wife and kids, Dave, Jeremy, Heidi, and Amanda were all there, laughing and talking and eating and just having fun in each others' company.  As I looked out the windows, I watched the fog roll away.
